About Viktor & Projects
I’m Viktor Birkus, a former Home Sharing Provider in British Columbia and the author of the “Birkus — Records & Real Life” project. For years I provided round-the-clock care and then found myself inside court and agency processes that showed how fragile and opaque the system can be for caregivers and the people they support.
This page is a short overview of who I am, what the main project is about, and where to find my other work.
The site started as a way to document my own case — filings, transcripts, letters, and personal notes — and grew into a broader archive about transparency in disability care and the real impact of policy decisions on families and providers. Here you will find court records, explainers, media projects, and creative work built around that experience.
Main project: “Home Sharing Provider — Story”
“Home Sharing Provider — Story” is a documentary-style series based on my own experience and on documents from the case against CLBC and affiliated agencies. It combines official records, contracts, letters, and real stories from the disability-care community.
